Right from the inception of the parish, the Orthodox Christian Youth Movement (OCYM) has had an indispensable role in the development of the parish in all spheres. Meetings are held on Saturday evenings in the church after evening prayers. As said in 1 Timothy 4:12, “Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity”. The activities of the youth movement are framed for the thorough transformation of our youth to achieve the aforesaid goals. The study classes and activities help them grow in faith and become better Orthodox Christians at a young age.

Every year, on August 15, as part of the Parish Day celebrations, numerous competitions and games are conducted under the leadership of the members of the OCYM. The unit also carries out several charity activities such as distribution of school study kits to the needy children, medical aids, supplying food at different orphanages and flood relief activities, amongst others. In this day and age where technology pervades every aspect of life, it goes without saying that the church, too, uses the digital world to touch the lives of many. For instance, the maintenance of this website and the documentation of the events of the church is, in itself, a great service rendered by the OCYM.
